Brief Description Neuburg was the capital of Palatinate-Neuburg. On 30 June 1972, Neuburg an der Donau became a Grosse Kreisstadt (similar to a county seat).  It covers an area of 81.32 km2and is an up-and-coming medium sized central city.

Culture/Sport The Renaissance Ducal Palace; Neuburg Castle (houses several museums including a Baroque gallery of the Bavarian State Picture Collection and the Neuburg-an-der-Danau Castle Archaeology Museum); Chamber Opera; Birdland Jazz Club Neurburg is one of the best locations for jazz auditions in Germany
