A new exhibition presenting art relating to the Spanish Civil War opens in the Laing Art Gallery, Newcastle upon Tyne on 7th March. The 1937 painting by Picasso of his mistress Dora Maar, weeping at the horrors of the war, is the centrepiece of the exhibition, which also features etchings by Picasso and work by fellow Spanish artist Joan Miró.
