Those who had registered as delegates will already know that our planned biennial conference in Neuchâtel, Switzerland has been cancelled because of the coronavirus pandemic.

The Newcastles of the World executive board of mayors and mayoral representatives have held a “virtual” meeting. Because of the disappointment of having to cancel our 2020 conference, and the expressed willingness of Neuchâtel to continue to be the next host – it has been decided that we will next meet together in 2022, with Neuchâtel remaining as host. We thank the city of Neuchâtel for its continued support, and also the cities of Newcastle, Australia and Nové Zámky, Slovakia, who had both indicated their wish to be our host in 2022.
